The Olympic Games, first held in BC, has a history of more than one thousand years. The modern Games is held every four years. Many countries try their best to bid for hosting the Olympic Games. And every country does its best to get more medals in the Games.

There are five rings on the Olympic flag, which are considered to symbolize the five continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and America. The Olympic motto is: "Swifter, higher, stronger." The Games can promote the understanding and friendship among different peoples and different nations.

On the New Year’s Eve, after finishing the dinner, for most Chinese people, they will sit at home, watching the Spring Festival Gala with their families. The show has been a tradition for us, in our parents’ generation, Spring Festival Gala is popular, even though today many new forms of amusement are invented, which makes the gala less popular, yet the traditional show still wins people’s attention. It has become part of people’s life, most people will open their TV and watch it in the big day. I will watch the show, maybe most of the parts do not attract my attention, but it is the happy time for me to stay with my family. I enjoy the moment.

It was sunny that day. Our parents were out, sothere were only my brother and me at home. We were bored. So we decided to goboating. We played happily. But when we went to the middle of the river, theweather changed. It rained suddenly. We didn’t bring umbrella and our boat was bambooraft. As the rain was more and heavier, we were afraid to sink in the river. Wetried our best to make our boat in shore. But our bamboo raft had more water onit. I was afraid to die. My brother was also very anxious. At that time, mymother came and she pulled us back to the ground. It was thrilling.

Today is my birthday and I'm so excited about it.In the morning I put a note on the table for my mum and it said,"Today is my birthday,don't forget it!"At school,I got many gifts and cards for my classmates and had a lot of fun.But I was still expecting the birthday party after school.

When it was time to leave school I couldn't wait to go home.When I open the door,there wasn't anybody in the house.There was only a note that said,"Coming home late tonight,mum and dad."I try to call them but there was no answer.I was so shocked,do they forget my birthday?How could this be!I was so sad that I couldn't eat anything.I just did my homework and waited for them.

And then,things changed completely.It was about time for dinner,my mother called and told me to go to the restanrant near our house.When I got there I couldn't believed my eyes.Everybody was there:my parents,my relatives,my friends and even my classmates.There was so many gifts and a big cake.What a surprising birthday party!We had a good time and it was the best birthday party ever.

We live in a world that surrounded by people, we need to communicate with others, for the purpose of share our emotions and keep survive. While some people have social phobia, they are afraid of talking to others, they can’t make the social communication. This is such a big illness, but they can overcome it. First, they need to take the positive attitude to life, having more communication with others can enriches their knowledge, they can share happiness and sorrow with friends, when they are in trouble, friends will help them. Second, they should open their hearts, don’t be afraid of talking to others, once the mouths are opened, the world will be lit up.

if i were a boy again, i would practice perseverance more often, and never give up a thing because it was or inconvenient. if we want light, we must conquer darkness. perseverance can sometimes equal genius in its results. "there are only two creatures," says a proverb, "who can surmount the pyramids—the eagle and the snail."

if i were a boy again, i would school myself into a habit of attention; i would let nothing come between me and the subject in hand. i would remember that a good skater never tries to skate in two directions at once.the habit of attention becomes part of our life, if we begin early enough. i often hear grown up people say " i could not fix my attention on the sermon or book, although i wished to do so" , and the reason is, the habit was not formed in youth.

if i were to live my life over again, i would pay more attention to the cultivation of the memory. i would strengthen that faculty by every possible means, and on every possible occasion. it takes a little hard work at first to remember things accurately; but memory soon helps itself, and gives very little trouble. it only needs early cultivation to become a power

When we open the TV, we may find that there are all kinds of commercial ads, most are about the women’s skin care products. The manufacturers find the great potential commercial opportunity in women’s skin care products, indeed, girls are paying special attention to their skins, Chinese girls want to main their skin white. White skin is symbol of nobility, so girls want to keep their skin white and smooth, they are willing to spend a lot of money on the skin care products. But they must keep an eye on products, some products are fakes, they are imitating the brands, if the customers don’t take care, they will be taken in. Skin care is important for the girls, but they must take care of the products.
