neither的用法
1. neither用作形容词，表示“(两者)都不”，置于单数名词之前。
Neither article is made in Beijing. 这两种物品都不是北京制造的。
I will participate in neither game. 那两项比赛我都不参加。
We discussed neither subject.这两个问题我们都没有讨论。
提醒注意：在口语中以not... either...替换neither使用的情形也很多。例如：
They bought neither house. = They didn't buy either house. 两间房子他们都没
买。
2. neither用作代词，表示“两者都不，双方均不”。例如：
He answered neither of the letters. 他两封信都没回。
She bought two toys, but neither can please the child. 她买了两个玩具，却没有
一个能让小孩高兴。
—Which one would you like? 你喜欢哪一个？
—Neither. 两个都不喜欢。
此时，与neither用法较为接近的词是none，但none的含义略有不同，none
表示“(三者以上)所有的……都不”。例如：
None of us are perfect. 人无完人。
提醒注意：neither作主语时，通常被视为单数，但从意义上讲也可视为复数。
Neither of the cars was / were damaged. 两部车都没有受损。
3. neither用作连词，常用短语为neither...nor...，表示“既不……也不……”。
例如：
Neither he nor I am well educated. 他和我都没受过良好教育。
I have neither time nor money. 我既没时间也没钱。
The novel is neither realistic nor poetic.那部小说既不写实也没有诗意。
提醒注意：
①neither和nor后面接同一词性的单词或短语。
②neither...nor...结构用作主语时，谓语动词必须与nor后面的名词或代词在
人称及数上保持一致，即所谓的就近原则。
③在表示“既……也……”，即“两者都……”时，常用短语both...and...；
表示“或者……或者……”(即二者选一)时，常用短语either...or...。
4. neither用作副词，作“也不”解释，放在句首，表示前面否定的内容也适
用于另一个人或物，句子须采用部分倒装。此时也可用nor替换neither使用。
—I don't like this dress. 我不喜欢这件连衣裙。
—Neither / Nor do I. 我也不喜欢。
If you don't suppose the plan, neither / nor will I. 如果你不支持那项计划，我也不支持。
either和neither的用法对比
either意思是"两者中的任何一个",neither意思是"两者都不",两个词在句中都可以充当主语、宾语、定语和同位语.
①作主语时,可单独使用,也可以与of连用,either,neither接谓语动词一般用单数形式,但这两者在口语中作主语时,其后
的谓语动词也可以用复数.
例如：
Either(of them)is OK.(他们两个中)任何一个都行.
②作宾语,可单独使用,也可以与of连用,放在动词或介词之后.例如：
I don't know which book is the better；I shall read both.我不知道这两本书哪一本好,所以我两本都读.
I like neither.(两个)我一个也不喜欢.
③作定语,either和neither后面接单数名词.例如：
On either side of the river there are a lot of trees.河的两边都有许多树.
句中可作主语、宾语和定语.
Neither of the films is good.
两部电影都不好.（没有一部是好的）
Either of the films is good.
（作主语,谓语动词用单数）
两部电影中有一部不错.
He wrote to neither of them.
他没给他们两个任何一个人写信.
He wrote to either of them.(作宾语)
他给他们中的一个人写了信.
Neither teacher often answers the questions.
这两个老师,没有一个经常解答问题.
Either teacher often answers the questions.
这两个老师中有一个常常解答问题.
Both the teachers often answer the questions.（作定语）
这两个老师都常常解答问题.
neither的用法例句
1. The report concludes that I acted neither fraudulently nor improperly.
报告最后认为我的行为既没有欺骗性也没有任何不妥。
2. They can neither read nor write, nor can they comprehend such concepts.
他们不会读，不会写，也理解不了这样的概念。
3. That, if you'll pardon my saying so, is neither here nor there.
恕我直言，那根本就不重要。
4. I have received neither an acknowledgment nor a reply.
我未收到任何复函或答复。
5. I take it that neither of you reads "The Times"
