Anotherformofviolenceinvolvingyouthisphysicalpunishmentintheschools.Thisformofdisciplinestillremainslegallysupportedin23nationsinAmerica.TheOfficeforCivilRightsintheDepartmentofEducationreportedthat555，000studentswerephysicallypunishedintheschoolsduringthisschoolyear.Althoughsuchpunishmenthasbeenregardedasaneffectivemethodofdisciplinebythosewhoapplyit,thefindingsareobviousthatphysicalpunishmentdoesnotworkandthatchildrenwhoarevictimsofphysicalpunishmentaresubjecttopotentiallong-termphysicalandemotionaldamage.
