从可持续发展的角度来看，我们有责任来保障后代有丰富的自然资源可利用，并且不会使他们因今天决策者的目光短浅而受到惩罚。换句话说，我们不应该仅为满足我们自己当前的需要而用尽所有的自然资源，忽视我们后代的需求。
