Formostseniorstudentsinuniversities,thelastacademicyearhasnothingtodowithacademics.Tothefrustrationofprofessors,fewcoursesareattendedbystudents.Anddormsarealmostvacantwithfewlodgers.Thiskindofphenomenon,whichhasbeencalled“SeniorEmptyNests”,iscommonamonguniversitiesofChina.

Wherehavethoseabsentseniorstudentsgone?Someluckydogshavegonetotheirnewjobswhilethemajorityarestillstrivingtogetajoborengagingintheirinternshipoutsideofthecampus.Thesevereemploymentpressurehaspushedseniorstudentsintoemploymentmarketearlier.Theanxietyofgettingajobbeforegraduationdisturbstherestlessmindofeverystudent,whichleadstoskippingschoolofmoststudents.

Inmyview,withseniorstudentsleavingcampusearlier,theirtimeofeducationhasbeenreduced,whichputstheminadisadvantagedpositionintheemploymentmarket.Studentsshouldstartjobhuntingafterfinishingthecoursesofthelastacademicyear.Atthesametime,theuniversitiesshouldprovidecareereducationforseniorstudents.
