Therearemainlytworeasonsbehindthisphenomenon.Tobeginwith,itistheemploymentpressurethatforcescollegestudentstogetmorecertificates.Withtheadmissionexpansionofcolleges,alotmoregraduateshavetofacethefiercecompetitioninthejobmarket.Howcanonemakehimselfmorecompetitive?Morecertificatesathand,maybe.Furthermore,diplomaandcertificatesarestillvitalstandardsbywhichagoodmanyemployersmeasureaperson’sability.Inordertoincreasethequalificationsforajob,thestudentscompelthemselvestorunfromoneexamtoanother.

Frommypointofview,weshouldbemorerationalwhenitcomestocertificates,sincecertificatesdonotnecessarilyproveone’sability.Beingcrazyingettingcertificatesblindlyisnothingbutwastingtime.Toconclude,weshouldfocusonimprovingourabilitybutnotgettingacertificateofnopracticalvalue.
