心理问题这种现象出现的原因有很多。有些学生因与同学或室友相处不好而备受折磨，他们往往倾向于用暴力来解决这些误解，要不就情愿隐藏自己的情感，这又总是导致更严重的心理问题。恋爱受挫可使学生想起用极端的办法来结束自己的痛苦，在这种情况下就可能发生报复或自杀。贫困可能使学生失去信心，使他们在同伴面前感到自卑。来自学习和求职竞争的压力也是各种心理问题的起因。
