Now,asweconsiderwhethertocontinuetheexplorationofouterspace,ourworldisfacedwithadifferentsetofcircumstances.Governmentsarelesspreoccupiedwiththeirstandingintheworld,andmoreinterestedinthewell-beingofthosewholiveinit.Thegreatestthreattoourwell-beingisourdamagedenvironment,andthisisaconcernoftheentireworld.Forexample,pollutioncausedbyfactoriesinSouthAmericamightcontributetorisingwaterlevelsinBangladesh.Spaceexplorationwouldrequireagreatoutlayofmoneyonequipment,personnelandfuel;insteadwemustallotourfinancialresourcestowardcooperatingwithothercountriestoimprovetheenvironmentandhelpmakelifemorebearableforourfellowcitizensonearth.
