特殊引导方式

as 和though 引导的让步状语从句通常用倒装结构,as 必须用倒装结构，though可用也可不用倒装。这种倒装通常是把从句中的表语、状语或谓语动词放在句首。作表语的名词前如有不定冠词 a/an，在倒装结构中,前面不能再加冠词

Selfish as/though he is, he is not without merits. 尽管他自私，但不是没有优;点 Fool as he is, Tom couldn't have done such a thing，汤姆再笨也不会做出这种事情。(fool 前不用冠词a）

while 引导让步状语从句时，只能放在句首，意义上相当于 although

方式状语从句

方式状语从句 (Adverbial Clause of Manner)可由下列引导词引导：as, as if, as though, the way, how 等

She closed her eyes as though/if she were tired. 她闭上眼睛，似乎累了。 Do it the way (that) you were told. 要照告诉你的去做。

比较状语从句

比较状语从向(Adverbial Clanse or Comrparison)的引导词有：as.. as, the same as, such. as, than, what 等

Jack runs as fast as Mike (does). 杰克跑得跟迈克一样快。

as和than 连接的比较状语从句常常省去同主句相同的都分，只留下相对比的都分;也常用替代词 do或其他助动词或情态动词的某种形式代替与主句相同的谓语部分

Tom is more diligent than Bob （is). 汤姆比鲍勃要勤奋。 Jack works as hard as Bill (does). 杰克跟比尔一样刻苦

目的状语从句

目的状语从句 (Adverbial Clause of Purpose) 可由下列引导词引导：so that(为了),in order that（为了)，in case(万一），lest(以防)，for fear that(以防）等

I study hard, so that I may not fail in the examinations．我用功学习,免得考试不及格。 Write the telephone number down in case you forget. 把电话号码写下来以免忘了。

结果状语从句

so/such... that 的意思是“如此⋯⋯以至于……”，引导结果状语从句 (Adverbial Clause of Result)

so+形容词/副词+that 从句

so+形容词a/an+单数名词that 从句

such+形容词＋复数名词+that 从句

such+形容词＋不可数名词that 从句

such a/an+形容词+单数名词+that从句

so/such that 引1导结果状语从句时的意思是“结果，所以”

She sat behind me, so that I could not see the expression on her face她坐在我身后，所以我着不到她脸上的表情。 The shock was such that she woas almost driven mad. 因为打击太大，她差点发疯。(such 为代词)

so much.. that 和 so much so that 比t so.. that 和 so that 在语气上更强
