Good morning, boys and girls! How are you today? I’m fine, too. Thank you! Before our new class, let’s watch a video clip… Boys and girls, what can you see? You, please! You see many people. Today we will learn how to describe our teachers.

Boys and girls, please look at the video clip. Who is he? Yes, he is Mr Young. And, what’s he doing? Yeah!He is playing the piano. He is Zhang Peng’s Music teacher. Now, let’s look at another video clip. Who is he? Yes, he is Mr Jones. And, what’s he doing? He is painting. He is Zhang Peng’s art teacher. Is Mr Young young? No, he isn’t. He is old. Old, [əʊ], look at my mouth, [əʊ], [əʊ], [əʊ]. One by one, please! Great! Good job! Old, old, old! Is Mr Young old? Yes, he is. What is Mr Jones like? Is he old? No, he isn’t. He is young. Young! [ŋ]. Look at my mouth, [ŋ], [ŋ], [ŋ], young, young, young. One by one, please! Well done! Is he young? Yes, he is.

Boys and girls, let’s play a game. Ok? Now I divide you into two groups, you are Group A, and you are Group B. When I say “old” in loud voice, you say “old” in low voice, and when I say “old” in low voice, you should say “old” in loud voice. The faster and louder, the winner. Are you clear? Are you ready? Yes! Old (loud voice), old (low voice)…, you are so fast, give group A one flower. once again, Young (loud voice), young (low voice)…, this time, you are so fast, so I will give group B one flower. The last time, please listen carefully! Old (loud voice), old (low voice), young (loud voice), young (low voice). Ok,group A is faster and louder, so I will give you one flower.

Just now, we know Zhang Peng’s teachers and what they are like. Do you want to introduce your teachers to others? Yes!Good! Now, four students in a group to make a list about your teachers. You should list at least 5 teachers. For example, PE teacher, Mr Zhang, tall and funny. I will give you 5 minutes to discuss and make a list. Then I will invite some of you to read your list. Got it? Go back to your seat, give your group two flowers. Anyone else? You, please! Stand here … Quite good! You list 6 teachers. Thank you!Please clap your hands for them! I also give you two flowers.

Boys and girls,what have you learnt today? Yes, we learnt how to describe others. And, we learnt three new words. Good job! We learnt: old and young. Anything else? Great!We learnt the sentences: Is he…? Yes, he is/No, he isn’t. Wonderful!

Today, we know our teachers better. As a student we should be polite, right? So, we should greet our teachers when we meet them. Do you think so? Yes! Good children!

Today, we learnt how to describe others, and we can use the words and sentences we learnt to introduce our friends. So, today’s homework is to introduce three of your friends to your families. Clear? Let count the flowers together. 1, 2, 3… Group A gets 10 flowers. Let’s count Group B’ flowers. 1, 2, 3…11 flowers. So, today’s winner is Group B, Congratulations! Group A should come on next time. Ok, Class is over, see you tomorrow!
